Further contribution to the early Miocene woody flora of Galatian Volcanic Provincefrom Doğanyurt Village, Ankara (Turkey)

The Galatian Volcanic Province (GVP) located in central-north Anatolia had a rich woody flora. purpose of the present study is to contribute early Miocene flora GVP from two fossil sites Doğanyurt Village city Beypazarı Ankara. sites, which are near each other, have small pieces woods. Total 16 woods were collected neighbour sites. Three thin sections as transversal, tangential and radial sample taken, they identified microscopically. As result, ten species identified, three new (Cercioxylon mediterraneum Akkemik, Iamandei & Çelik, sp. nov., Cryptocaryoxylon irregularis Myricoxylon doganyurtensis Çelik nov.) rest (Glyptostroboxylon rudolphii Dolezych van der Burgh, Taxodioxylon gypsaceum (Göppert) Kräusel, Pinuxylon Gothan, Aceroxylon aceroides Pistacioxylon ufukii Salicoxylon galatianum Ulmoxylon cf. carpinifolia Greguss) found also these Myrica, for first time Turkey wood, has many leaf fossils most common trees GVP, G. T. gypsaceum, wood assemblage may indicate that area subtropical climate lowland, with riparian swamp growth conditions.
